Weekly schedule

DAYS 1–6
Building the Foundation
In the first week, we explore the foundations of yoga to help you build a strong and steady practice, starting with its roots, history, and the meaning of Hatha Yoga. You’ll learn key postures, safe alignment, and basic bone and joint anatomy, along with breathing techniques, Sun Salutations, and introductory Vinyasa flow. Light philosophy supports your mind–body connection, and by the end you’ll understand alignment, breath coordination, and beginner asanas, with simple homework like daily Sun Salutations, short readings, and practice reflections.

DAYS 7–12
Strength, Mobility & Teaching Basics
This phase focuses on refining your physical practice and introducing teaching concepts. We’ll explore pose progressions such as hip openers, twists, and backbends while learning safe variations, prop usage, and modifications.
This is also where you begin integrating therapeutic awareness — understanding how different bodies move and how to adapt safely.
You’ll also deepen your understanding of how muscles work and how movement is created safely in the body. We begin touching teaching methodology: learning how to use your voice, cue effectively, and structure simple yoga sequences. Hands-on adjustments, safety, and ethics (Yamas & Niyamas) also form an important part of this week.
During this period, you will start building short sequences and practicing the basics of guiding others.

DAYS 13–18
Breath, Mindfulness & Teaching Confidence
In Week 3, we shift our focus inward. You will learn intermediate pranayama practices, meditation methods, and explore how breath influences the nervous system.
We also deepen yoga philosophy, touching on pathways like Karma Yoga, Bhakti Yoga, and Jnana Yoga.
Students begin observing each other’s postures, assessing alignment, and practicing small group teaching. Restorative yoga and relaxation techniques will help you understand the gentle and therapeutic side of yoga.
By the end of this phase, you will feel confident guiding relaxation, breath awareness, and simple flow-based sessions.

DAYS 19–22
Integration, Teaching Practicum & Certification
The final days are dedicated to stepping into the role of a teacher. You will learn how to sequence full 60–75 minute classes, manage a group, and create a safe, supportive classroom environment.
Your assisting techniques and alignment knowledge will be reviewed before moving into your final teaching practicum: a supervised class where you apply everything you’ve learned.
Written and practical assessments follow, and the course concludes with a beautiful closing ceremony and certification.
By the end of the course, you will be fully prepared to teach beginner-friendly, alignment-based yoga classes confidently and safely — with a strong understanding of therapeutic movement.
Therapeutic Approach
At Brahma Yoga, we believe that yoga is a healing science.
Along with traditional Hatha and Vinyasa foundations, our course integrates basic yoga therapy to help you understand the body, support healing, and guide students safely with awareness.
Throughout the training, you will learn how to observe the body, recognise imbalances, and apply therapeutic techniques that support recovery, comfort, and safe movement. Our basic yoga therapy module is woven naturally into your daily classes to deepen your knowledge and build a compassionate teaching style.
What You Will Learn in Yoga Therapy:
-
Back Care & Spinal Health
Understanding the spine, supporting posture, relieving lower back pain, and safely strengthening the back muscles.
-
Knee Care & Joint Stability
Learning how the knees function, how to protect them in asanas, and how to strengthen surrounding muscles to prevent injuries.
-
Managing Muscle Cramps & Fatigue
Identifying causes of cramps and using targeted stretches, relaxation, and breathwork for relief.
-
Healing Overstretched or Strained Muscles
Techniques to re-activate, gently strengthen, and restore balance to overworked or overstretched areas.
-
Body Awareness & Mindful Alignment
Building safe, functional movement patterns that support long-term wellbeing and prevent injury.
-
Pranayama & Meditation
Developing a deeper understanding of the breath and mind through traditional techniques that enhance focus, calm the nervous system, and support emotional healing.
This therapeutic foundation enhances your personal practice and prepares you to help others with confidence and clarity: key reason why students love training with us.
